Dan Crisan is Professor of Mathematics at Imperial College London and Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in the Mathematics of Planet Earth. Crisan ’s research interests lie in the wider area of stochastic analysis. He is particularly interested in understanding macroscopic phenomena through their microscopic and (possibly) stochastic counterparts. Over the past two decades, Crisan has contributed to a variety of areas including stochastic filtering, particle algorithms, Monte Carlo methods, stochastic partial differential equations, forward backward stochastic differential equations and Malliavin calculus. Crisan has published a monograph on Stochastic Filtering and co-edited several books on Stochastic Analysis and Nonlinear Filtering.
