Boris Tsirelson was born in Leningrad, Russia, USSR in 1950. His fields of research are classical and quantum probability.

Boris is known for: Tsirelson space, "the first truly nonclassical Banach space"; the Gaussian isoperimetric inequality and Tsirelson's bound, an upper bound to quantum correlations.
