Local Information


If you have booked the accommodation package, you will be staying at Keble College, Parks Road, Oxford OX13PG. 

You are welcome to arrive at Keble and register for the conference from 2pm – 5pm Sunday 12th July. If your room is ready, you may check in or simply leave luggage with the porter’s if you wish to explore Oxford on your arrival.

The full package includes bed, breakfast and dinner (excluding the Gala Dinner, Wed 15th July) in an ensuite, private, single occupancy room arriving Sunday 12th July and departing Friday 17th July 2015.

Whilst we hope you will stay for the full conference, we appreciate your schedule may not allow for this and so you can also choose to book individual nights at a rate of £120.00pppn B,B&D (Sun-Tues and Thurs) and a rate of £90.00pppn B&B (Wed).

You can book to attend the Gala Dinner at Keble on the evening of Wednesday 15th July 2015 as an optional extra for £60.00pp.

Please note these are all bookable as extras through the online store - there is a charge of £60.00 pp for the Gala Dinner, £20.00 pp for the extra hall dinners and BBQ but the Drinks Reception and Debate are complimentary to all registered delegates.


Children travelling with registered delegates are welcome (supplementary charges apply).

The organisers are delighted to be able to offer a discounted Activity Day Camp option for 4-14 year olds through local provider Ultimate Activity based at Headington School, Oxford OX3 7PB. Children can expect to enjoy up to 40 different activities and experiences over a full week...swimming, dance, trampolining, tennis, cookery, archery, fencing...to name just a few. There is even an 'Ultimate International' option where Children can combine fun activities with 1-2 hours English Language lessons per day.

July is the middle of the summer in the UK, with average daily temperatures ranging from 11°C (52°F) to 21°C (70°F). Please be advised that rain is always a possibility!

Dress Code

Comfortable business attire for the general conference and shirt and tie/smart dress, skirt or trousers for evening events.


The local currency is pounds sterling (GBP) (£) and pence (p). Most shops, cafes and restaurants accept credit cards and debit cards and there are numerous banks and ATM machines in Oxford where cash can be withdrawn but check with your bank before you come to see how much they charge for using international ATMs.

Current Exchange Rates


The standard electrical voltage is 240v AC, 50HZ. A three square pronged adapter plug and/or electric converter for appliances is required. 


Many restaurants clearly include a service charge (check the menu), otherwise a 10% tip is customary.

Getting to Oxford


Travellers from abroad may arrive by plane at:

  • London Heathrow; the Oxford Bus Company Airline service coach goes directly from here to Oxford.
  • London Gatwick; the Oxford Bus Company Airline service coach goes directly from here to Oxford.
  • London Stansted; there are infrequent direct coaches or more frequent links via a coach to Heathrow or London.
  • Luton; you may need to take a coach to Heathrow or London to join one of the other services.
  • Birmingham International Airport; there are frequent trains from here to Oxford (see Rail Timetable Information).

  • From London, take the Oxford Bus Company X90 service or the Oxford Tube coach to Oxford.
